  • Engines, transmission and auxiliary systems
  • Electrical installation and batteries
  • Steering, bilges and pumping
  • Navigation and safety equipment

What the inspection covers, and what it can't

What an inspection can tell you, and what it can't. We would rather say so up front.

The inspection is visual, functional and non-invasive. It covers the parts accessible at the time of the inspection, using the equipment set out in each section and supported by auxiliary readings (comparative moisture meter, thermal imaging, tachometer, GPS, endoscope and others), whose results are indicative and comparative only.

No dismantling, opening up of engines, removal of linings or destructive testing is carried out, unless expressly included in the scope booked or authorised in advance by the client.

The report does not guarantee the absence of hidden defects, internal, intermittent or in places that cannot be reached, nor how equipment will behave in future. Moisture readings compare one area of the boat against another and are not a diagnosis in themselves.

Items marked N/C (not checked) could not be verified and should not be read as faults: they are a limit on the scope. Items marked ESP need checking by a specialist, and are not in themselves a fault either.

The conclusions apply to the date of the inspection and the conditions on the day: where the boat was, the weather, how she was loaded and what could be reached.

This report does not replace the Spanish vessel inspection (ITB), the certificate of seaworthiness or CE conformity assessment, which are matters for the competent bodies. Where appropriate, Barcos360 arranges and coordinates specialists; outside services, analyses, diagnostics, dismantling and any additional cost require the client's prior authorisation.
